Welcome!
Surrogacy is a fantastic option for those who are unable to create a family on their own. But for all that comes with it, it can also be physically and emotionally challenging.
A surrogate helps enable the dream of a family to become a reality for couples or singles and sometimes it can feel like you’re going through it alone. Multiple decisions need to be made each step of the way, and if you don’t have a good girlfriend to lean on and ask advice, you might not know where to start.
If you’re ready to stop researching surrogacy and start embracing the amazing journey that you’re embarking on, or if you’re in the early stages of being a surrogate, then this is the place for you!
Finally, you have to have someone knowledgeable and experienced in your corner.
You need a place to go to help you learn about the process and make an informed decision that is best for you at the specific time in your journey, and that’s precisely what I can help with.
Find a deeper understanding of what being a surrogate entails, and learn about the processes that take place during the journey. I’ll give you an inside look at how a surrogate handles all kinds of situations from that first positive test to birth plans and everything in between. You’ll even get to follow along on a two-time proven surrogate’s journey to see what else happens behind the scenes.
Hi. I’m JoAn
I’m the founder of Girlfriends’ Guide to Surrogacy, and I’m currently on my fifth surrogacy journey.
I know it sounds wild, but becoming a surrogate is something that just sort of happened to me. One day I was talking about it with my husband Brad, and before I knew it, three months later I was pregnant with my first surrogate babies!!
Pregnancy, for me, hasn’t been as tough as the parenting gig, so I’m more than happy to help bring joy into the lives of new parents. I send them off with a thumbs up and hearty “Good Luck!”

Seeing the new parents with their baby (or babies!) for the first time is my ultimate favorite part of this experience. It’s incomparable to anything else. My second favorite part is bed rest after embryo transfer.

Journey #5
We’ve had 2 failed transfers and after some down time and organizing new egg donors, we are nearing another transfer. We’re all hopeful this one will be successful!
